Prospectus

Most companies raising capital from the public by offering shares or other securities must issue a prospectus. This document must be lodged with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) before beginning to raise money from the public.

The prospectus should provide details of the company’s financial and management position, enabling investors to make informed decisions about whether to invest. Potential risks should be disclosed. ASIC’s website contains excellent information on prospectuses. Visit asic.gov.au.
