Time horizon

This is the period that an investor (including super fund member) intends to hold an investment. It is a crucial consideration when deciding the types of investments and amount of risk to be undertaken. An older fund member nearing retirement, for example, is typically advised to take less risk in their investments than a young person at the beginning of their working lives.
