Vanguard welcomes new Director.pdf (PDF - 34KB)

Melbourne, 1 May, 2008 - Vanguard Investments Australia (VIA) today announced the appointment of Mr James M. Norris, Head of Vanguard's international division, to its Board of Directors.

Mr Norris has 20 years experience within The Vanguard Group. Vanguard's US-based international division manages investments for institutional and retail clients in more than 80 countries around the world.

Mr Norris's position on the Board succeeds Mr F. William McNabb III, who recently assumed the role of President and Director of Vanguard.

Under a planned transition, Mr McNabb will in turn succeed Mr Jack Brennan as CEO of The Vanguard Group within the next year. This planned succession will ensure a smooth transition and result in several Vanguard executives, including Mr Norris, taking on new or expanded roles.
