SPIN number

The Superannuation Product Identification Number (SPIN) is the standard ways within the financial services industry for identifying superannuation products. It is recognised by Treasury, Australian Taxation Office (ATO), Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA). Members are asked to supply their funds’ SPIN number, for instance, when instructing an employer to pay Superannuation Guarantee contributions into a particular fund or when rolling their super into another fund.
