Auditor Contravention report

Report that an approved auditor of a SMSF must make to fund trustees of a breach of superannuation law, and, depending upon the seriousness, directly to the Australian Taxation Office as SMSF regulator. The ATO says that auditors must, from July 2008, report to it certain “events” that action or inaction by the trustees could or have led to contraventions of superannuation law.
