Vanguard appoints new Asia managing director 22 Jul 08
Vanguard today announced the appointment of Ms Lee Yuit Chieng as Managing Director of its institutional business in Asia.
Based in Singapore, Ms Lee will report directly to Mr Trevor Chudleigh - Principal, Head of Asia and Japan for Vanguard Investments.
'Ms Lee's appointment will allow us to increase our focus on key regional institutional investors, meeting their increased demand for Vanguard's product and services,' said Mr Chudleigh.
Ms Lee is an experienced fund management professional previously working for Singapore's Monetary Authority, Deutsche Bank and BGI. She recently completed a Masters degree in financial engineering. Ms Lee will assume the role in August.
Ms Lee said: 'I am delighted to be joining Vanguard at this time. The range and quality of their offering is exceptional and I have been impressed by the institutionalised dedication to serving client's interests.'
Vanguard serves a range of leading financial institutions in Asia, including pension funds, governments and companies.
Jon Robinson has led Vanguard's entry into Asia since joining in 2003. Mr Robinson will work closely with Ms Lee to ensure a smooth handover before leaving Vanguard to return to consulting.
'I am a firm believer in Vanguard's business and investment philosophy and I foresee great success in Asia for Vanguard,' Mr Robinson said.
