Vanguard Australian Shares High Yield ETF (VHY)
The Vanguard® Australian Shares High Yield ETF (VHY) is a separate class of units in the Vanguard® Australian Shares High Yield Fund.
The investment objective is to seek to match the return (income and capital appreciation) of the FTSE® ASFA Australia High Dividend Yield Index before taking into account fund fees and expenses.
The FTSE® ASFA Australia High Dividend Yield Index is a real-time, market capitalisation weighted index comprised of companies listed on the ASX with higher forecast dividend yields, relative to other companies listed on the ASX*. A-REITs and securities that are not forecast to pay dividends over the next 12 months are excluded from the Index. Then the securities with the highest forecast dividend yields which make up 50% of the float-adjusted market capitalisation of the Index are selected, capping exposure to any one industry at 40% and to any one company at 10%. The number of securities in the Index may vary over time.
