Libby Newman is a Senior Investment Specialist Strategy and Research at Vanguard Australia.
In this role Libby acts as a conduit between Vanguard’s Investment Strategy Group and financial advisers on the economy, asset allocation, portfolio construction and retirement planning. She also leads Vanguard’s Portfolio Analytics Consulting team, who assist advisers with practical insights regarding core satellite portfolio construction.
Libby joined Vanguard in February 2021 from her role as Head of Research at Lonsec, where she spent 13 years researching a range of investment products with a focus on fixed income and multi-asset funds and superannuation funds. She was also a member of Lonsec’s manager selection and asset allocation investment committee. She has prior experience in banking, information systems, hedge fund operations and fixed income funds management in London, Brisbane and Melbourne.
Libby holds a Bachelor of Business from Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment and CPA.
