Auto Invest is not currently available for exchange traded fund (ETF) investments, however this functionality is being planned for a future release.
Login to your Vanguard Personal Investor account, then select Auto Invest from the left-hand navigation menu. Fill in all fields on the Auto Invest online form and click Submit.
The minimum Auto Invest amount is $200 either fortnightly, monthly, or quarterly. There is no minimum amount of investment into each managed fund.

Yes. When you set up your Auto Invest plan, simply click on the 'Add managed fund' button. You’ll then see a full list of Vanguard managed funds. Then select the fund or funds you'd like to add to your Auto Invest plan.
No. You’re only able to link one bank account to your Auto Invest plan.
To change the bank account that’s linked to your Auto Invest plan you’ll need to cancel your current Auto Invest instructions.
Select Auto Invest in the left-hand navigation menu, click Cancel Auto Invest, and then follow the prompts. Then select Settings, navigate to the Account details tab, select the Edit option to choose the bank account you want to use, and follow the prompts.
You can only set up one Auto Invest plan per account.
No. To make changes to your plan you'll need to cancel your current Auto Invest plan and set up a new one.
You can cancel your Auto Invest direct debit at any time. Select Auto Invest in the left-hand navigation menu, click Cancel Auto Invest, and then follow the prompts.
Your direct debit and regular investment orders will be cancelled if you cancel your Auto Invest plan at any time up until 4pm (AET) on the date your next direct debit is due.
If you cancel your Auto Invest plan after 4pm (AET) on the date your direct debit is due your direct debit will still proceed and your regular investment orders will be processed.
However, you’ll be able to cancel your pending orders individually from either your portfolio or transaction screens up until 1pm (AET) on the day that your direct debit settles in your Vanguard Cash Account.
Any amounts linked to cancelled orders will remain in your Vanguard Cash Account.
If you don't have enough money in your linked bank account at the time your next direct debit is due your deduction may be dishonoured by your bank and your Auto Invest will be cancelled. Your bank may charge you a dishonour fee. We will notify you by email if this occurs.
If you choose to make fortnightly direct debits from your bank account, they’ll occur on the same day every 14 days from the date you select.
If you choose to make monthly direct debits from your bank account, they’ll occur on the same date of every month. However, if you set up your plan to start on the last day of a month, your monthly direct debit will occur on the last day of each following month (for example, February 28 or 29, March 31, April 30).
If you choose to make quarterly direct debits from your bank account, they’ll occur on the same date of every quarter. However, if you set up your plan to start on the last day of a quarter, your quarterly direct debit will occur on the last day of each following quarter (for example, March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31).
You’ll be sent a reminder email 3 days before your scheduled direct debit date.
The Auto Invest feature is only available to Vanguard Personal Investor accountholders.
