What is Life Events cover?

Life Events cover is an insurance feature available through Vanguard Super that allows eligible members to increase their insurance cover after certain significant life events¹.

Major milestones can change your financial responsibilities. For example, you may take on a mortgage, start supporting a family or become financially responsible for someone else. As your circumstances change, your insurance needs may change too.

Life Events cover provides a way to apply for additional insurance without completing a health assessment, provided you meet the eligibility requirements².

How do I apply for Life Events cover?

To apply for Life Events cover:

1. Log in to Vanguard Online.

2. Download the Apply for an increase in the Life Events Cover form.

3. Complete and submit the form within 120 days of the eligible life event.

While a health assessment is not required, you'll be asked to provide some basic information as part of the application process.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible for Life Events cover, you must meet certain conditions, including (but not limited to):

being under age 65 when you apply.
applying within 120 days of the life event.
not having increased your insurance through a life event in the previous 12 months.

Any increase in insurance cover is limited to the lesser of:

25% of your existing cover, or
$200,000..
