'Targeting' or ‘Advertising’ cookies enable us, through our third-party service providers including social media platforms, to identify whether and when you have seen or clicked on a particular Vanguard Australia advertisement on a third-party site and enable us to target our advertising to you on other sites after you visited our websites. To do this, cookies and other tracking tools may collect information about your activity on our websites, which is combined with information about your activity on other, unaffiliated websites. Web Beacons

Vanguard Australia’s websites or the emails that you receive from us may use a third-party application known as a web beacon (also known as a pixel tag, tracking pixel or clear gif). A web beacon is an electronic file that usually consists of a single-pixel image. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, web beacons are not stored on a user’s computer or device. Further Website Analytics

Social media platforms

In addition to what is outlined above, Vanguard Australia uses online advertising platforms provided by social media platforms including Meta (Facebook), LinkedIn and Google to display brief advertisements, service offerings, product listing, video content and generate mobile application installs within the platform’s ad network to web users and to create lookalike audiences to market to. Social media platforms including Meta (Facebook), LinkedIn, Google have developed conversion application programming interfaces (APIs) which allow Vanguard Australia to directly communicate with the social media platform and get valuable insights about how our advertising is performing and may involve Vanguard Australia providing some hashed information about our clients or members to these social media platforms to understand how they are engaging with Vanguard Australia content on the applicable platforms. This Notice may be updated from time to time.  If we make any changes, we will notify you by revising the "effective" date at the top of this Notice.
